( – President Donald Trump continues taking decisive action to help the American people as the coronavirus pandemic sweeps across the country, announcing on Tuesday that he aims to give checks to all American households.

The move would be part of a wider rescue package implemented by the federal government designed to give Americans financial room to breathe.

During the press conference, President Trump explained, “We’re going big. We want to go big, go solid.”

The Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin joined the president at the conference, which took place in the White House, and explained the finer details of the proposals.

“We’re looking at sending checks to Americans immediately,” the Treasury Secretary explained. “Americans need cash now and the president wants to get cash now.”

Mnuchin also explained how Americans should expect some kind of individual stimulus within the next couple of weeks, but that it would be subject to negotiation with Congress. Such a measure may prove controversial and those concerned about the function of the economy may wish to propose alternate measures.

However, Mnuchin was clear that the Trump administration believes individual cash stimulus to American citizens is the way forward.

“I think it’s clear, we don’t need to send people who make millions of dollars a year checks, OK?” he added. The president agreed.

“Obviously some people shouldn’t be getting checks for $1,000” he added.

The suggestion implied that only those who need it will be offered the stimulus, but details are still not finalized. He did, however, say that the reported cost of $850 billion for a rescue bill is probably too high.

“This is stuff that needs to be done now, the president has instructed to me that this is no fault to American workers,” he added.

President Trump then made comments, explaining how there are four different ways of getting money to the American people. He said that while he initially supported a cut in payroll tax, he was looking at news ways to get money to Americans.

“We want to do something much faster than that,” he said, referring to the proposed tax cuts.

Americans worried about putting food on the table should expect news on this very soon.
