(PatriotHeadline.com)- Rick Wilson is one of the most prominent Never Trump “conservatives,” and this week, he really embarrassed himself. Wilson found a tweet from Domino’s Pizza – yes, the non-political pizza company – in which their Twitter manager thanked White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany for saying she liked their pizza. By the way, given the tweet was seven years ago, McEnany wasn’t even the White House press secretary then.
Trump hadn’t even announced he was running for president, then!
“You just killed your brand,” Wilson said in response to the 2012 tweet.
All they did was thank McEnany for saying Domino’s Pizza is “wayyyy better than any NYC pizza.”
See for yourself:
@kayleighmcenany That’s one heck of a compliment! Thanks for the love! #WEAPPRECIATEIT!

Just to stress once again…this was a tweet that was made years before President Trump even announced his intention to stand for the presidency. Does Wilson think Domino’s should have remembered the tweet, and gone back to delete it? Does he think we should start canceling people, and refusing to engage with them, if we think there’s a chance of them ever becoming an official under the Trump administration?
Wilson received a massive backlash after his comments…including from Domino’s Pizza.
“Welp. It’s unfortunate that thanking a customer for a compliment back in 2012 would be viewed as political,” Domino’s tweeted.
Welp. It’s unfortunate that thanking a customer for a compliment back in 2012 would be viewed as political. Guess that’s 2020 for ya.

“Guess that’s 2020 for ya.”
The backlash got even more embarrassing for Wilson, too. Some examined Wilson’s social media to find examples of him doing things that he would today suggest is racist. Caleb Hull found a tweet from Wilson’s wife which featured a food/beer cooler emblazoned with a Confederate flag.
Don’t worry @dominos, it turns out that the only brand cancelled today is the brand of Rick “The South will rise again” Wilson. https://t.co/AiT73noo2I pic.twitter.com/tXyK2eGH3w

Even Donald Trump Jr. retweeted it.
Is this the biggest backfire…ever?
