(PatriotHeadline.Com)- On Tuesday morning, the state of Missouri shocked the country by announcing a lawsuit against China, accusing the authoritarian nation of “deceit.” The suit alleges that China’s deception was the reason why the coronavirus outbreak happened in the first place and seeks damages for “the enormous loss of life, human suffering, and economic turmoil.”
Things are heating up for China!
Today I filed suit against the Chinese government to seek recovery for the devastating loss of life & economic suffering Missourians face as a result of the #COVID19 pandemic.
The bottom line: they lied to the world & should be held accountable. https://t.co/Q2JgnAHLCH

According to Fox News, the Eastern District of Missouri suit is following “at least seven” federal class-action lawsuits that have already been filed by several private groups. One was also filed in Florida, alleging that the Chinese government knew “COVID-19 was dangerous and capable of causing a pandemic, yet slowly acted, proverbially put their head in the sand, and/or covered it up in their own economic self-interest.”
The decision comes weeks after a British think tank, the Henry Jackson Society, argued that Western governments should sue China for trillions of dollars to pay for the economic damage caused by the virus.
Fox News said officials told them that beyond the health consequences of the virus, which are already damning in Missouri, the economic shutdown that came with it has cost the state around $44 billion so far. Some 5,963 cases of the viruses were reported in Missouri by Tuesday morning and a total of 215 deaths.
The text of the suit unequivocally blames China for the spread of the virus.
“The repeated unlawful and unreasonable acts and omissions” of communist China, the lawsuit claims, “have been injurious to – and have significantly interfered with – the lives, health, and safety of substantial numbers of Missouri residents, ruining lives and damaging the public order and economy of the State of Missouri.”
Eric Schmitt, Missouri’s Attorney General, explained why he is pushing forward with the suit.
“In Missouri, the impact of the virus is very real – thousands have been infected and many have died, families have been separated from dying loved ones, small businesses are shuttering their doors, and those living paycheck to paycheck are struggling to put food on their table,” he said.
Republican lawmakers are also looking at ways to take action against China. 20 Republican members of Congress recently requested that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr work with them to bring a case against communist China in the International Court of justice.
