Lawmaker Requests Special Counsel Investigate Hunter Biden

( Joe Biden might have enjoyed protection from the mainstream media when a disgraceful and shocking scandal involving his family was uncovered in the final weeks of the campaign, but if Colorado Rep. Ken Buck gets his way, a special counsel will ensure his son, Hunter Biden, doesn’t get away with his potential crimes.

In a letter sent to Attorney General William Barr on Monday, Rep. Buck requested that the Department of Justice initiate a new special counsel investigation into the conduct of Hunter Biden, the “Potentially incriminating contents” of a laptop owned by Hunter Biden retrieved by the FBI, and even the media’s false declaration of Joe Biden as the “president-elect.”

A special counsel investigation would allow for the investigation into Hunter Biden, who is accused by former business partner Tony Bobulinski to have been engaged in foreign business deals forged through the influence of his vice president father, to continue even if Biden becomes president in January. It would also be “critical” for national security, Rep. Buck explained.

“This investigation is critical to defending the integrity of our republic and ensuring a potential Biden Administration will not be the subject of undue foreign interference,” Buck explained. “Americans have the right to know whether Mr. Bidens’ reported ties to foreign governments will make him the subject of blackmail attempts or other nefarious efforts to undermine U.S. national security or otherwise improperly influence American foreign policy.”

Hunter Biden made millions of dollars from Ukrainian and Chinese companies while his father was vice president and those who have seen the emails obtained from his laptop say that the majority of his money came from overseas.

One America News anchor Jack Posobiec said precisely that on Twitter on Wednesday, following news that Biden’s tax affairs would be subject to investigation.

“As you know, the Attorney General is granted the statutory authority to appoint a Special Counsel under 28 U.S.C. § 515 and 28 CFR § 600 to investigate and prosecute any matter that would present a conflict of interest for the Department or other extraordinary circumstances,” Buck continued in his letter.

“Similar to when the DOJ appointed Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III, it is critical that this investigation continue free from political interference, no matter who is in the White House. We must guarantee the integrity of our government and the security of our republic,” he added.

As Barr has already appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as special counsel in the investigation of the origins of the Russia hoax, it seems perfectly likely that he would be willing to do the same on a matter of such significance.

Can Joe Biden really get away with winning the presidency via a flawed election…and not having his son’s business dealings fully investigated?
