(PatriotHeadline.com)- A family from Fresno County, California, expressed their disappointment and sadness that Democratic vice-presidential candidate Senator Kamala Harris trespassed on their burned property for a photo op. Harris turned up to California this week to witness the destruction caused by the wildfires and trespassed on the burned-down home of a family for a photo opportunity with California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Fox26 reported how Harris arrived in Fresno County on Wednesday a day after President Donald Trump visited the state to see the damage. Harris stopped by Pine Ridge Elementary in Auberry before crossing over the street to look at the remains of a burned down property.
Harris commented on the state of the property, saying, “Everything is gone except the chimney…those chimneys, they remind me, when you look at a neighborhood that’s been wiped out, those chimneys remind me of tombstones.”
Nice attempt at sounding poetic and profound there…
Harris then tweeted a photograph of her on the property, but the owners weren’t too pleased. Harris didn’t have permission.
Trampas Patten, the son of the homeowners, responded by saying that neither she nor Governor Gavin Newsom had a right to be on their property.
“What has me really frustrated right now is the fact that these two politicians used my parents loss for a photo opportunity to push their political agenda!” Patten said on Facebook. “Political party wouldn’t have made a difference in this moment. Decent human being that have character and class, wouldn’t air someone else’s misfortune on national television!”
Bailee Patten, Trampas Patten’s sister, also expressed her anger about the situation in her own Facebook post. She also published an open letter to Newsom.
“Dear Governor Newsom you don’t know me but I’m one of your CA citizens. That truck you are standing by is my dads work truck. He has had that thing for as long as I can remember. That land with all the rubble your standing next too, that’s my house I grew up in,” she said.
“You never got my parents permission to go on our property, nor did you ask if we needed help. What you did do is take my families loss and parade it all over social media and news networks to push your agenda,” she added.
The family also expressed their anger that Harris characterized the families as victims.
“These are the stories behind these fires,” Harris said to journalists. “The people who are victimized by these, they could care less…and their children could care less…who they voted for in the last election.”
Harris, once again, trying to sound profound. But she’s the one who blamed this one global warming when these fires could be significantly reduced in size if the Democrats allowed more controlled burns.
Will Governor Newsom and Senator Harris apologize? We’ll see. Neither of them seems to be very good at that.
