Governor Newsom Hides Key COVID-19 Data From American People

(PatriotHeadline)- Just as divisive Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsome announces that he is reversing his excessive lockdown policy, reports suggest that he has been hiding key COVID data that was used to justify the months-long lockdowns.

And Newsome has an excuse, too. The Democrat governor said that the data is too complicated and would mislead and confuse the public.

Can he be any more patronising?

Governor Newsom implemented the first lockdown in March last year, and ever since, he has repeatedly introduced strict lockdown rules that forced thousands of businesses to close for good and many restaurants to spend thousands of dollars on COVID health supplies only to be told they can’t open again anyway.

According to KTVU, Governor Newsom Said that he would make policy decisions based on data that was shared with the public to provide maximum transparency, but that His administration is now refusing to disclose key information that would help make his decision to reverse the stay-at-home order.

“State health officials said they rely on a very complex set of measurements that would confuse and potentially mislead the public if they were made public,” the report claimed.

Executive Director of the First Amendment Coalition, David Snyder, slammed the decision and claimed that California Democrats were wielding extraordinary power.

“The state is wielding extraordinary power these days — power to close businesses, to directly impact people’s livelihoods and even lives — and so it owes it to Californians to disclose how and why it makes those decisions,” he said.

“Secrecy is exactly the wrong approach here and will only breed further mistrust, confusion and contempt for the crucial role of government in bringing us out of this crisis,” he added.

After Newsom tore up the county-by-county plan after Thanksgiving, four regions which made up around 98% of the population of the state were put under strict lockdown after available hospital capacities dropped below 15%.

Last week, no regions in California had gone beyond that 15%, meaning it was unlikely that they would have their lockdowns lifted. However, in the space of a day, California state government announced that the stay-at-home order would be lifted for the Greater Sacramento region.

And there was no explanation. State officials didn’t reveal the data. Local businesses haven’t been told why.

But it’s happening anyway.

With no data made available, it has left the press and the people wondering whether Newsom made a political decision to close down his state before the election, and is only lifting those restrictions now that they might harm his own party.
