Donald Trump Turns Down Nikki Haley Request To Meet

(PatriotHeadline.com)- GOP establishment figure Nikki Haley was left red-faced this week when she made a bizarre request to meet former President Donald Trump, despite publicly attacking the president following media and Democrat smears that he “incited insurrection.”

Haley recently told Politico’s Playbook that the president “let down” Republicans, yet for some reason thought that the former president might meet her at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Politico reported that Haley, the former United Nations ambassador, reached out to President Trump but that she was “turned down.” A source told the outlet that the pair have not spoken since January 6, and since Haley chose to attack the president on the same grounds as the left.

Haley first said that the president’s actions, namely his efforts to ensure election integrity, were “not great.” Despite opposing the efforts to impeach President Trump, she gave an interview to Politico seemingly attempting to establish a new narrative that the former president will not be running for office again,

“I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture…I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far,” she said.

And she thought the former president would want to meet her after saying that…why?

After the interview was published, Haley attempted to blame the left-wing press for dividing Republicans, instead of admitting what she said. In an op-ed, she also praised President Trump’s “outstanding” policies and accused the media of creating a “nonstop Republican civil war” with Trump in the middle of it.

“The media playbook starts with the demand that everyone pick sides about Donal Trump – either love or hate everything about him,” she said in a piece published by the Wall Street Journal.

While Haley has not formally announced that she is running for president, it has long been rumored. It doesn’t appear to be going so well, though, with a new Morning Consult/Politico poll putting Haley at 6% and former President Donald Trump at 53%.

If the former president decides to run again, it looks like Haley doesn’t have a chance.

Senator Lindsey Graham reportedly also attempted to introduce Haley to big donors in recent weeks, but that didn’t go so well, with donors refusing to meet with the on-again-off-again Trump supporter.
