CNN Ratings Plummet 44%

( Left-wing news outlet CNN cashed in big time on their conspiratorial reporting of President Donald Trump, but now that he’s gone, the network’s rating are already plummeting.

In the first week after President Donald Trump left office, CNN’s primetime ratings between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. EST immediately dropped by 44%. The Variety Intelligence Platform released the shocking data, showing how the target news demographic of viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 stopped tuning in.

MSNBC suffered a similar fate, with primetime ratings falling by a substantial 20%. It’s not quite as much of a drop as CNN, probably indicating that the network relied slightly (only slightly) less on Donald Trump for their programming as their competitor.

All the while, Fox has been in some trouble – though for different reasons. Ever since election night, Fox News lost favor with diehard Republican voters who have turned in large numbers to alternatives like One America News and Newsmax.

Regardless, Fox’s primetime ratings fell only slightly, with “Tucker Carlson Tonight” falling only slightly. Carlson is the favorite among Fox viewers, offering a populist angle that supporters of former President Donald Trump appreciated.

The significant drop in viewers for CNN must hurt, as the network initially appeared to be overtaking Fox in January after President Trump’s term in the White House came to a close. CNN benefited greatly from the tragic events of January 6, when gangs of right-wing and left-wing extremists rioted and stormed the United States Capitol Building.

CNN also enjoyed high ratings during the inauguration of President Joe Biden, only for it to begin dropping immediately after.

The far left’s network quick demise allowed MSNBC to shoot to the top. The network’s director of booking Jesse Rodriguez announced the news on February 2, celebrating that MSNBC had become the “#1 network in all of cable during primetime, dominating Fox News and CNN among total viewers in January.”

Time will tell if CNN and MSNBC see their numbers continue to drop through the Biden administration, and whether they’ll finally have to start scrutinizing Democrats to claw those numbers back up.

The upcoming Trump impeachment hearing, however, is likely to provide some brief relief to the struggling networks.
