Biden’s Gun Control Law Would Affect 200,000,000 Americans

( President Joe Biden’s proposed gun control legislation would reportedly criminalize 105 million law-abiding Americans.

In a letter to the Biden administration, the United States Concealed Carry Association agreed that “common sense” changes would be welcome to the nation’s gun laws, his current proposal would punish law-abiding American citizens.

“While we can agree that there are several ‘common sense’ and long overdue changes needed to our nation’s gun laws, we firmly believe that the path forward should be focused on supporting and protecting responsible, law0-abiding Americans – not criminalizing and punishing them,” the organization said.

Some 550,000 people have flocked to the organization as official members, joining its ranks to defend their Second Amendment right to bear arms.

During the campaign, then-candidate Joe Biden promised to introduce new taxes on Americans who own “assault” weapons and to potentially restrict concealed carry laws.

The Concealed Carry Association spoke out after President Biden used the recent anniversary of the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, to call for increased gun control measures.

Tim Schmidt, the president of the group, said that a better way to stop criminals from hurting people with illegal weapons was for others to be legally armed and trained to use weapons in a defensive manner. A petition organized by Schmidt, which calls for a national concealed carry policy, has since gathered more than 100,000 signatures.

“Representatives in Washington need to know that Americans from coast to coast are in favor of a national concealed carry reciprocity policy to help keep our families safe,” the petition reads.

Biden’s gun legislation proposals come at a time when more Americans are purchasing legal firearms for the first time, fearing their safety after a year of violent Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots. Between January and September 2020, Americans purchased a record 16.7 million firearms, according to Small Arms Analytics and Forecasting.

In the letter to Biden from the USCCA, Schmidt pushed Biden to consider national concealed carry reciprocity over increasing taxes and regulations on “already responsible gun owners.”

He said that the policy is a “truly ‘common sense’ reform that will help more Americans keep their families safe.”

But with Biden’s record on guns, it doesn’t seem too likely that he will listen.

In 1994, Biden was one of several legislators who proposed the 1994 “assault weapons” ban. Since then, he has repeatedly called for the ban of so-called “assault weapons,” including “AR-14s.”

Doesn’t exactly instill you with confidence when the president doesn’t even know what gun he is trying to ban, does it?
