Biden Promises to Rejoin WHO On DAY ONE As President

( Joe Biden just doesn’t get it, does he? The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee seems to say the opposite of President Donald Trump, no matter what it is. His most recent promise is to rejoin the World Health Organization on the first day of his presidency, pledging to undo the monumental decision made by President Trump in the wake of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

“Americans are safer when America is engaged in strengthening global health,” Biden said, suggesting that the only way to strengthen global health is to be a part of the World Health Organization. “On my first day as President, I will rejoin the WHO and restore our leadership on the world stage.”

The comments come after President Donald Trump officially withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization – and with good reason. The WHO, which is meant to ensure that all countries are prepared and warned in advance of a global pandemic, failed to accurately portray the nature of the COVID-19 outbreak. Many have accused the global group of trusting China too much.

If the WHO had declared a global pandemic earlier, hundreds of thousands of lives may have been saved and the virus may not have spread as widely as it did. So, President Trump withdrew the support of the United States. Think about it – why should the United States support an organization that repeatedly praised China for its transparency in handling the outbreak of the virus, when China didn’t stop people flying out of the country when officials knew the outbreak had occurred?

Why would any American leader support an organization that claimed China’s handling was “very impressive, and beyond words.” Has Biden got an answer for this?

Perhaps it’s not surprising, though. Biden was publicly calling President Trump a xenophobe earlier this year when he announced that travel into the United States from China would be banned, in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.

Biden still hasn’t admitted he said it, either. But he did, and you can see it in the video above.

What do you think – is promising to rejoin the WHO a winning strategy?
